EXPLORING FRONTIERS IN LANGUAGE EDUCATION: BRIDGING TRADITIONAL EFL TEACHING AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
In the field of foreign language education, specifically focusing on English as a Foreign Language (EFL), the symposium on "Exploring Frontiers in Language Education" aims to shed light on the evolving landscape by blending traditional teaching approaches with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). This integration offers a new paradigm where methodological innovation meets practical application, enhancing the effectiveness and engagement of language learning processes. The potential of AI and advanced language models to transform educational environments into more interactive and personalized learning experiences is significant, supporting a nuanced understanding of language pedagogy in the digital age (Baskara, 2023). Additionally, the adoption of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in conjunction with AI tools has shown promise in elevating students' comprehension and engagement in non-native contexts (Tang & Foley, 2022). Furthermore, the deployment of Intelligent Virtual Assistants (IVAs) offers insights into how digital tools can complement traditional educational settings, suggesting a future where technology and teacher-led instruction coexist to foster more effective learning environments. This symposium will explore these themes, focusing on how educators can leverage technological advancements to refine and revolutionize EFL teaching strategies.
